Cascade Pleat Fun Fold

 Hello,

Have you melted yet? Its been so hot and humid here in southern Ontario that staying outdoors for any length of time is brutal. So, I've been in my craft room making cards and organizing (again). Sometimes I think I like organizing more that actually making cards 😊.

Today's card idea comes from Tami White. You can check her blog for a tutorial.

This card really showcases designer series paper.

You can dress the card up or keep it simple. Just be aware, the more you add the bulkier the card gets.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time....

Its been too hot!

 Hello,

This week has been brutal. Hot temperatures and humidity, neither of which I enjoy. So it was off to the craft room and the AC.

The first card was made with the Beautiful Gallery designer series paper. A simple card where the paper takes the stage.

Next, a fun summer card. When I saw the Day of Summer dies from PaperTrey I knew I had to have them. How cute are those flip flops?

And of course what is there to do but relax when the weather is bad. This card was made with the In the Moment stamp set and the Thoughtful Journey designer series paper.

Lastly, a card made with a new technique...at least for me. A friend gave me a stamping foam. This foam gets heated and pressed into practically anything. For the background I pressed the stamping foam onto a rubber shelf liner, inked it up and stamped it onto card stock. Once the foam is cleaned with water the foam is heated up again and the pressed design sort of melts away leaving the stamping block clear again. Its like magic.

I also used my favourite dies, Colour and Contour. I just love the scalloped dies. The flower is from the Gallery Blooms stamp set.

I hope you stay cool wherever you are. Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time....

Hammock Card

 Hello,

Have I got a fun fold for you! This card is called a hammock card. I found it on Sam Calcott's YouTube channel.

I chose to keep the card closed with a belly band but a ribbon could also be used.

It's called a hammock card because the inside panel rocks like a hammock. Cute, yes? It looks like wings 😄. This card has lots of pieces but goes together easily. Give it a try. Check out Sam's YouTube channel for measurements and assembly instructions.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.

Flowers for You

 Hello,

Its the season for blooms. The garden is well on its way,  flowers blooming with fragrances to fill the senses.

Today's card has a strange colour combination....well not so strange because the showiest flowers have colour combinations we might not use together.

I've had tulips in the garden where petals shared colours of reds and oranges. I called them sunset tulips. Many of the inspired ideas come from nature.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time. Have to go, my cats are fighting!😮

More cards

 Hello,

Gorgeous day finally. It’s been raining the  past couple of day so I’ve spent time in the craft room.

Here are a few of the cards I’ve made.

I think this one is good for a masculine birthday.

Layers and textures.

I made this card for my son's birthday.

Multi coloured. This took a while.

Fitting Florets Fun Fold

 Hello,

Today I’ve got an easy fun fold, a step card.

I’ve used some older designer series paper called Fitting Florets and paired it with a sentiment from the Special Moments stamp set.

Fun folds are an easy way to add interest to a card. This card measures 5-1/2 x 8 and scored at 3, 6, and 7 along the 8” side. The front layer measures 3 x 6, scored at 4-1/4.

Give this fun fold a try. With the use of different designer series paper you’ll have a new card every time. Add some ribbon or embellishments for even more interest.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.

Some Cards

 Hello,

I've been remiss at posting the cards I've made, partly because I can't upload photos on my Ipad to Blogger for some reason. So I'm on my laptop to post these.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time...

Hugs

 Hello,

For anyone needing a hug today…here it is!

Lots of dimension to this card. I popped everything up on dimensionals.

I like the way the image/sentiment/die cuts look like they are floating.

We all need a hug sometimes, whether in person or paper form.💕

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time....

More Flowers

 Hello,

I’m back with another floral card, surprised? 😂  This die set is from Altenew called Houseplant Layering Dies.

The background is the Corrugated embossing folder from Stampin’ Up. This card would lend itself to a get well card or thinking of you card.

I also made this card,

A simple design using layers to give dimension.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time…

Flowers

 Hello,

If you haven’t figured by now, I love flowers. Most of my stamp sets are florals. While florals are great for many cards, they don’t lend to masculine cards. That’s a challenge I’m still working on. Girly cards are much easier to make. Here are a couple of feminine cards.

Same stamp set, more dramatic colours.

Which one do you like best?

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time….
