Lovely In Linen

 Hi, its me again.

Second post of the day.

When I get stuck for inspiration, I go to my stash of designer series paper. I have A LOT! if I can't find inspiration there, I really don't want to make a card and I step away for a bit.

So today, I raided the Lovely In Linen dsp. The colours are bright and cheerful. Perfect for a birthday card, thinking of you card or just because.

The card base measures 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 5-1/2". The dsp measures 4" x 5-1/4". The white card stock at the bottome measures 4-1/4" x 3-1/4". I roughly cut a "V" shape in the white card stock to expose more of the dsp. It doesn't have to be perfect as the sentiment layer will hide any imperfection.

The sentiment layer was die cut from the Thoughtful Expressions dies. Any shape would work though. Adding some foliage gives a bit of interest. Pop on some embellishments and you're done!

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time...

Yet another St. Patrick's Day Card

 Hello,

Yes, here's another St. Patty's Day card.

This one is a copy of a design by Tami White, you can see it here.

This design is so versatile. It can be used for any occasion.

The card fits into a regular medium envelope.

I love the way this card turned out.

I also made a birthday card with the same layout.

I hope you'll give this one a try. I know you'll love it.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time....

St. Patrick's Day

 Hello,

Another year....another list of occasions/holidays.

Lá Fhéile Pádraig- the Day of the Festival of Patrick or as we commonly refer to it as St. Patrick's Day. ☘ Traditionally used as the symbol of Ireland, shamrocks are the focus of today's card.

It's all about the green.

I chose a white background to showcase the shamrocks, giving the background some texture with the Basket Weave embossing folder.

I really am pleased by the way this card turned out.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time....

Leaves

Hi crafty friends,

I found inspiration for today’s card from a fellow crafter, Michelle Quinno. I changed the colours and image using Masterfully Made dsp, Lost Lagoon and Berry Burst card stock.

The embossing folder, Basket Weave, gives some texture to the background.

Another way to add texture is to leave some of the die cuts unglued, securing only a portion of the cuts. Just be careful putting the card into an envelope😊. Plenty of room to add a sentiment on the front too.

Lots of room for a personal note on the inside.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time…

Mix and Match

 Hello,

One of the things I love about Stampin Up is the colour coordination. There is no stress over which colour or pattern goes with what. This is also the case with mixing and matching dies.

Today's card does just that...mixes and matches patterns and dies. For this card I used Night of Navy for the base, countryside Inn DSP, Pierced Bloom dies for the flower and Thoughtful Expressions dies for the layer behind the flower. I left off a sentiment for now, I’ll add one when the occasions warrants.

The card base measures 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4". Measure the first piece of dsp at 5-1/2" x 4-1/4". On that piece measure down from the top left corner 3" and make a tic mark. From the top of the right side corner measure down 3/4" and make a tic mark. Cut from the 3" mark to the 3/4" mark (as shown).

Measure a second piece of card stock 2-1/2" x 3". On the 2-1/2 " side measure the half way point, 1-1/4". Cut from the half way point to either corner of the dsp (as shown).

Next, cut coordinating strips measuring 1/4" x 6". You'll trim these later. Now for the assembly.

Adhere the first piece of dsp to the card base followed by the second piece. Add the coordinating strips at an angle following the lines of the dsp, letting the ends hang off the card. It's easier to do it this way and trim off the excess.

Add your layer for the flower and if using, sentiment.

And there you have it!

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time....

Easter

Hello crafting friends,

It’s a brisk day out there today so it’s a perfect time to stay indoors and stamp. I figured I’d get a start on my Easter cards.

Today’s card uses all Stampin Up products. I found the design for this card on Pinterest.

The colours used were Daffodil Delight, Bumble Bee, Coastal Cabana and Pear Pizazz. Lots of texture too with Radiating Stitches dies. The strips for the basket weave measure 1/4” x 5”. I laid them across the layer, then trimmed off the excess.

Have you started your Easter or Spring cards yet?

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time….
