Christmas Friends

 Hello,

The Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper has the cutest images. The paper is great to use for Christmas cards or winter seasonal cards. For this card I used a couple coordinating products from Stampin' Up. The sentiment is from the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set which was stamped on one of the Layering Diorama dies.

One of my favourite things from Stampin' Up is their coordination of products. The products truly are mix and match.

Here's the recipe:

Base: Fresh Freesia cardstock- 4 1/4 x 11,  scored at 5 1/2
DSP: 4 x 5 1/4
Images: fussy cut from Penguin Playmates DSP
Sentiment- Holly Holly Wishes Stamp Set
Sentiment base: Basic White cut from Layering Diorama Die Set
Embellishments: Snowflake Sequins

Until next time. Happy crafting!

Peaceful Place

 Hello,

It's been hot and humid here. The kind of weather where you don't want to do anything including crafting. I know, shocker right? For those days when your inspiration takes a vacation, let the designer series paper from Stampin' Up do the talkin'. The images are so beautiful they can be your focal point.

For this card I used the Peaceful Place designer series paper. Both sides of every sheet is gorgeous. I just popped on a sentiment and card done.

So the next time you're stuck for ideas, just take a look at some of your dsp.

Until next time.

Sweet Pumpkins

My favourite time of year is Autumn. I love the changing colours of the leaves and pumpkins. I have been searching for a nice pumpkin stamp set for a while....nothing cutesy or cartoonish. This year Stampin' Up has come out with the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle in the new Mini Catalogue available August 3, 2021.

For this card I've used one of the pumpkin stamps and dies along with one of the sentiments from the set. The DSP is Harvest Meadow, also from the Mini Catalogue, which pairs nicely with the pumpkins.

Until next time.

Sweet Symmetry

 Hello,

I am in love with the Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper. I love the colours, so bright and cheery. In true fashion Stampin' Up coordinates their products. For this card I paired the All Squared Away dies which pretty much match the DSP.  This card can be used for almost any occasion, hence the absence of a sentiment. I'll add that when needed.

Until next time.

Alcohol Technique

Hi everyone,

Earlier this week I watched Lisa Curcio on a live YouTube event make these amazing cards using an alcohol technique. The results were beautiful and no two cards were the same. This technique can be done on vellum, foil card stock or shimmer vellum base. Each base will give you a different result.

I chose to use regular vellum with my alcohol markers. I coloured the vellum with Stampin' Up Stampin' Blends in dark Pumpkin Pie and dark Bermuda Bay. I spritzed rubbing alcohol (at least 90%) on the vellum then used my heat tool to "blow" the colours around. I was amazed at the effects. Beautiful.

The coloured vellum is really the focal point of the card. There is no need to add much, however I added an embossed flower from the Color and Contour stamp set. Add a sentiment and some gold thread and there's a card.

Try the technique, it's so much fun. It will be addicting. Colour combinations are endless. Check out  Lisa's blog for inspiration.

Until next time....

Sweet As A Peach

 Hello,

We've been having a lot of rainy days here so I've been in my craft room making cards.

For this card I used the Sweet As A Peach Suite from Stampin' Up.

The designer series paper in this suite are so pretty and because the sheets are double sided, they are also very versatile lending to other card occasions.

The sentiment is from the Biggest Wish stamp set.

Here's a tip: To get a realistic looking peach, stamp your image in the main colour and use a dauber to ink select  areas in a contrasting colour. I used Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral.

Until next time.
