 Hi!

Today's card uses a combination of stamps/designer series paper and dies. Don't be afraid to mix and match your stamp sets. Think of all the possibilities!

On this card Whisper White cardstock was used for the base, Granny Apple Green cardstock for the layer and the designer series paper is Flower and Field. The stamp set is Little Lady bug with coordinating dies. The layer under the sentiment was cut with Curvy Dies. 

Today is the last day of 2020. I can tell you, I am not sorry to see this year go. It's been rather challenging. Let's ring in the new year with hope and wish for a better year in 2021.

Art Gallery Suite- Colour Change Up

 Hello!

A few inches of snow fell last night creating a white blanket that needed to be shovelled this morning. Good exercise.

Today's card is made with the Art Gallery Suite but with a colour change up. Here I used Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Write markers to colour the image before stamping. The card base is Petal Pink cardstock.

The background layer is from the Fine Art Floral designer series paper. Add some bling and a sentiment and viola! a card anyone would be happy to receive. 

I love inspirational quotes. Here is one that I think I'll need to read over and over again during these trying times.

Art Gallery Suite

 Hi, remember me?

It's been a while. This has been a crazy year. I retired, Covid-19 arrived and restrictions and lockdowns commenced. Not what I had planned for my retirement. Right now we are in another lockdown. So, I am making the best of it...making cards. I thought I'd get back at it. I made almost 200 Christmas cards. 90 of them went to a senior's residence where my MIL lives. So many of the residents do not have family visits on a normal basis never mind Covid. I thought it might bring a little cheer to them. 

I also made some appreciation cards which I handed out, secretly, to homes on my street who had exceptional Christmas light displays. I found this year people decorated their homes more than any other year. So, 10 homes got 'thank you for bringing cheer and joy this Christmas' cards. 

So, on to today's card. One of my favourite new stamp sets is Stampin' Up's Art Gallery Suite. The suite includes designer series paper, Fine Art Floral, 12 x 12 double sided sheets, the Art Gallery stamp set, the Floral Gallery dies. the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder, Fine Art ribbon, Gilded Leafing embellishment with Heat and Stick powder and Golden Garden Designer Specialty Paper. This set is so versatile. It can be used for birthday cards, sympathy cards, thinking of you cards....the list is endless.

Today's card uses a very old Stampin' Up stamp called Bloomin' Beautiful. Hydrangeas are one of my favourite flowers. This image reminds me of giving my mom a potted hydrangea in either pink or blue hues at Easter time.

Corner Fold

Hello,

I found this corner flip card on Pinterest. I searched hi and low before I found a tutorial on how to make the card on  Buckeye Inklings. This card uses one of my favourite stamps and DSP from Stampin' Up, Honey Bee and Golden Honey. It took me a while to get the angles right and to cut the paper (which I cut incorrectly twice! math is not a strong skill for me, lol)

More Peonies

Hello,

Do you ever have tons of scraps left over? Those smaller pieces of DSP that won't fit an entire card? Well, here's a card, CASE'd from Helzie Slimm, that uses some scraps from the Peony Garden DSP. I've coloured the middle section with Petal Pink Stampin' Blends, added a sentiment from the Wetlands stamp set and mounted it on cardstock cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

This is another pop up card using the Happy Birthday to You stamp set and matching dies from Stampin' Up. I like this set because the die cut flowers can be used for many ideas on your cards.

Celebrate Every Moment

Hello,

Life is short, celebrate every moment....especially during these turbulent times. 

This is a fun pop up card made with Stampin' Up's Golden Honey DSP and Honey Bee stamps and dies. 

At times the need to improvise is required and this was no exception. I didn't have any matching ribbon for this card so I coloured some white ribbon with Pineapple Punch Stampin' Blends. I CASE'd the card from Lynn Dunn at Stamptastic Designs.

The inside of the card has the pop up folds where I adhered some little busy bees. I think I could have added a few more bees at the bottom of the strip, it looks a little bare.  

If I am giving the card away I often leave the inside blank for a personal sentiment.

Hello,

Today's card features a new technique, at least for me. A braided card. I found the tutorial on Lisa Curcio's You Tube channel.  Lisa has tons of tips and tricks for cardmaking. 

It was easy to make. Although, I rushed through the instructions and made a mistake so take your time.

I love the soft colours of this card. There is something about the flowers and the scalloped edges of the cardstock that makes it a very feminine birthday card. This stamp set would make a lovely wedding card too.

3D Peony

Hello,

I am in love with the Prized Peony stamps and dies. I CASE'd this card from Akiko Sudano at Stampin in the Meadows. Akiko has a video on how to assemble the 3D peony, and thank goodness she does because I would never have figured out how to do it. I changed my card up a bit, opting for a different sentiment and omitting the ribbon. I also added some dimentionals under the petals to give them a lift.
