Side Accordian Card

 Hello,

Here's a different kind of fun fold (different for me, anyway). I've CASED if from Claire Ottaway. You can watch her YouTube video tutorial here →https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amRVkd1towc

It's very easy to make. I've adapted the measurements for imperial so that I will fit into a medium envelope.

Base:

Cut card stock to measure 10" x 4-1/4" and scored at 5-1/2, 6-3/4, 7-7/8 and 9 on the long side. Fold and burnish.

Cut DSP for the inside of the base measuring 4" x 5-3/8". Adhere.

For each of the accordian panels cut DSP to measure 1" x 4". Adhere to each panel. (Refer to photo for placement).

Front:

Cut a piece of card stock measuring 3-1/4" x 9-1/2" and score at 4-3/4". Cut  DSP to measure 4-5/8"x 3-1/8". Cut 2.

With the fold on the right side, adhere the DSP on the front and underside of the front piece.

Adhere the front piece to the base by adding a small amount of glue on one end of the card stock and place on the first panel of the base. Then add some glue to the inside of the back piece and adhere to the fourth panel, making sure the front piece is centred top to bottom and side to side.

Now decorate the front of the card with whatever embellishments and sentiment desired. Place a sentiment piece on the inside of the base. Nested dies are perfect for this.

Give this fun fold a try.

Apple Harvest?

 Hello,

Today, it’s the old switcheroo. I’ve taken the Apple Harvest stamp set and turned it into oranges.

Nice juicy oranges. Perfect on a hot day. And we’re having a few of them this week. Stinkin’ hot!

I used Copic markers for the oranges….Cadium Orange and Apricot. The leaves are SU Granny Apple Green blends.

Do you ever use a stamp set for something other than what it was intended for? Make your stamp sets go further with some ‘thinking outside the box’.

Pop up Fun Fold Book Card

 Hello,

The only thing to do on a hot day like today is stay in an air conditioned room and craft🙂.

Yesterday I saw Lisa Curcio from Lisa’s Stamp Studio make this fun fold. I had to try it.

For my version I used my new favourite Country Flowers stamp set and dies. I was on the fence about the new Wild Wheat colour but it’s growing in me.
For instructions, check out Lisa’s Stamp Studio. Lisa can give instructions much better than I can.
I highly recommend stamping the inside sentiment on card stock before adhering it to the base. I didn’t do this and it was difficult stamping once the ‘box’ part of the card was added.
The card is a wee bit bulky so I wouldn’t add too much to the box sections. I chose to keep the dsp unadorned. The card folds flat and fit into a medium envelope.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time…

Father’s Day

 Hello,

Another occasion rolling around. This time, Father’s Day. These days Father’s Day is celebrated with our two cats. They’re like children to us. We still have our memories of parents no longer with us, always celebrated in our hearts.💓

We have a tuxedo cat and a tabby, both rescues. They have been the light of our lives and sometimes the bain or our existence😂. They sure keep us laughing.

So, the cats decided it was their turn in the craft room. Here are the cards made for their hooman dad.

And…

I’m sure their ‘dad’ will be impressed!

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time…

Strawberry Season

 Hello,

With local strawberry season on the horizon I thought this card was fitting.

The strawberry dies are unbranded (you may be able to find them on Amazon). The scalloped die and sentiment die are Stampin’Up along with all the card stock used. The sentiment is from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time….
